📖 In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain” – Psalm 11:1

The psalmist, placing his full trust in God, is confident that none of his enemies will go unpunished. David, the author of the psalm, does not consider himself invincible—and neither should we—for each day has its own troubles. He writes about the righteousness of God. The Lord loves the righteous and detests the wicked.

Even if we suffer greatly in life due to wicked people and are wronged, we can rest in God. That is because He is the avenger, the righteous Judge over all reality. His throne is in heaven, and from there comes everything that takes place here.

If someone has stolen from you, humiliated you, insulted you, or harmed you in any way and does not repent, God will bring them to justice. The same applies to us—we will also be judged unless we repent of our sins and believe in Christ Jesus.

Practice righteousness

  • Read all of Psalm 11

  • Reflect and consider whether you are righteous or wicked

  • Pray and trust God, for He will bring justice

To pray: Lord God, my Father, and Jesus Christ, my Savior, I ask that You protect and keep me from all evil. When the wicked threaten me and disturb my peace, may I be sheltered under Your wings, safe from all evil attacks. May both my enemies and I repent of our sins and be forever at Your side, Lord, for in Christ, the sins of all humanity have already been paid. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏
