Trust in The Lord Even in The Midst of Bad News

📖 “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” — Psalm 112:7
Our current reality is that we have constant access to information through television, the internet, and radio. Yet, because information is so readily available, instead of simply helping and informing us, it can often leave us feeling overwhelmed. Every day, we hear bad news about crime, disasters, and rumors that create fear and uncertainty. Unfortunately, all this information reminds us of what this world can bring.
Living under the influence of these voices can draw us further away from God and cause us to fix our eyes only on what is happening around us. To remain steadfast and confident in the Lord, there is only one “news channel” capable of encouraging us and leading us toward victory: the Word of God!
Through the Bible, our hearts are strengthened, and we learn to trust more deeply in God’s power. When our hearts are filled with the Spirit, bad news does not have to defeat us. The Son of God Himself told us in His Word that we would face trouble and difficulties. Even so, we should not lose heart, because He has overcome the world and has given us the greatest news of all: through His name, we are saved and free!
Do not be afraid of bad news. Hold firmly to the promises of the Lord, remain faithful to Christ, and continue seeking Him. He will guide you safely through the valleys and lead you into victory.
The best news channel:
Read the Bible. In it, you will find the nourishment that strengthens your soul and truly satisfies you.
Do not fear the news of this world. Read what the Bible says about this world and about the One who has overcome it.
Instead of constantly consuming bad news that does not build you up, set aside time each day to read the Good News of the Lord.
Prayer: Lord God, in the midst of so much news that tries to discourage me, I choose to listen to Your voice. You are my hope, and from You I receive the best news. Help me to stay focused on the things above, reading and filling myself with Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏
