📖 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself, and his religion is worthless. (James 1:26)

God cares about the words you speak, and you must take responsibility for them. A person who says everything that comes to mind or constantly offends others is foolish and thinks only of himself, not of others.

What this verse is saying is that anyone who claims to follow God must have a different attitude. Otherwise, that person is a hypocrite. Those who follow God must take responsibility for what they say; their mouth should be a source of life, wisdom, and healing for others.

Have you been careful with your tongue? Or do you say everything you think and believe the problem lies with whoever got offended? If you truly want to be a child of God, a follower of Jesus, you must be careful with your words. Be a source of blessing, not of curse.

A good source of water

  • Pay attention at all times, especially in difficult moments. Observe your attitude—are you complaining, murmuring, or cursing? Take control.

  • Instead of cursing, look up and ask for divine help.

  • Before speaking about someone else’s life, think about how that person would feel if they heard you at that moment.

Prayer: My God and my Father, I ask You to forgive me for all the times I failed and spoke words of curse. Forgive me, God, for gossiping and cursing others in difficult situations. I ask that Your Holy Spirit be in my heart, ready to warn me and help me in moments of temptation. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. 🙏
