📖 So he got up and went to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. – Luke 15:20
The parable of the prodigal son tells the story of a young man who, after distancing himself from his father and squandering his inheritance, decides to return repentant. His father, far from rejecting him, receives him with love and celebrates his return.
Meanwhile, the older son, who had always stayed home, cannot understand this compassion. Which one do you identify with today?
Sometimes we live far from God because of our own decisions or, even though we are physically close, our hearts have grown cold. But the Father is always ready to welcome us back. No matter the distance, today is a good day to return.
Return: the Father is waiting for you
Remember that God has compassion no matter what situation you're in. He is always compassionate.
Pray, talk to God. Ask for forgiveness and reconcile with Him.
Draw near to the Father as a son who loves and cherishes His company.
Jesus Christ is our greatest example as the Son of God. Strive to be more like Him.
The loving Father has His arms open to receive you. Do not be indifferent to the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, my God and Father, I don't want to stay far from You. Help me return to Your presence with all my heart, in spirit, and in truth. Forgive me for thinking there was a better place and for following other paths. Forgive me for thinking I’m better than others. I want to be more like Jesus. Help me and give me the strength to never leave You again. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏
