You, Lord, deal well with your servant, according to your word. 66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. 68 You are good and do good; teach me your statutes. Psalm 119:65-68
God's goodness knows no bounds. He demonstrates His grace, even if we are not worthy of His favor. When we face difficulties as a result of our failures, God lovingly teaches us. Through His Word, He shows us how we should live. His faithfulness extends beyond the heavens, which is why we need Christ to know more about God's character and to imitate Him.
In this Psalm, God's goodness, which brings blessing, is contrasted with human disobedience and pride that lead to humiliation. But when we become aware of our mistakes and recognize the need to be truly faithful, God treats us with kindness.
Through meditating on Scripture, the Holy Spirit convinces us of our errors and helps us change our mindset and attitude to wisely obey the Lord's Word.
Acknowledge God's goodness:
Pray and give thanks to God for His kindness and faithfulness towards you.
Ask God to teach you His Word and transform your heart so that you can let go of wrongdoing and remain faithful.
Keep God's teachings in your mind and heart to avoid sinning against Him.
Remember: by the GRACE and MERCY of the Lord, you receive favors you don't deserve and escape the punishment you deserved.
To pray: Loving Father, thank You so much! I have no words to thank You for all Your goodness! I didn't deserve it, but You grant me blessings without measure, Lord! I thank You for caring for my life and the lives of those I love in so many ways every day. Thank You for bringing me back to Your presence, where there is light, renewal, and truth. I acknowledge that I have flaws, God, and I need to improve. I need Your help to live according to Your will, Jesus. Transform me according to Your Word! In Jesus' name, I pray with a heart full of gratitude. Amen!
